Captured in 2016, on the island of Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), this photograph depicted this Kosraean girl, as she was playing by the water, amongst numerous tires, disposed at the water’s edge. It is important to remember that tires serve as breeding sites for mosquitoes capable of carrying Zika virus, and able to transmit the infection to local human beings.
