This image was captured in October 2017, during an Emergency Response effort focused on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, following Hurricane Maria’s impact on that U.S. Territory. Depicted here, was former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director, Brenda Fitzgerald, MD, and Luis O. Rivera-González, PhD, MS, standing in front of the Mercy-class hospital ship, the USNS Comfort (T-AH-20), while docked in Puerto Rico’s capital city of San Juan.
