Standing on the National Guard Isla Grande Airport tarmac in San Juan, Puerto Rico, this image was captured October 17, 2017, and depicted Incident Response Command Team-3 (IRCT3), Public Health/Environmental Health Services Branch staff member, Branch Deputy Lead, Luis O. Rivera-González, PhD, MS, who was deployed to conduct Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Responses (CASPERs) in isolated communities, shortly after Hurricane Maria’s passage over Puerto Rico. This picture was taken, while Dr. Rivera-González was boarding a helicopter, which would transport the team to the barrio of Caonillas-Utuado. In the foreground was Dr. Rivera-González, behind whom was Branch Lead, Capt. Miguel Cruz.
