This June 15, 2017 photograph, depicted a local public health staff member in the Rumphi District, of the East African nation of Malawi, as he was conducting an interview with one of the District’s families, in order to determine if the young girl, seated on her mother’s lap, had received her appropriate vaccinations. Members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Global Immunization Division, provide technical expertise to local public health staff, whose job it is, to ensure all children living in remote villages, are properly vaccinated during the National Measles-Rubella Immunization Campaign.
