Under a magnification of 600X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Penicillium multicolor, labeled strain A-797. Here, you could see the organism’s septate filamentous, hyaline hyphae, and a number of brush-shaped clusters of conidia, known as penicilli, each composed of a conidiophore that is topped by metulae, phialides, and respective chains of conidia.
