This image depicted a dorsoposterior view of a hamster’s back, in the region of the pelvis, revealing the presence of what had been a leishmanial lesion on the tail, as well as infection involving the left hip joint and left foot, caused by the parasitic protozoan, Leishmania braziliensis.
