This image depicted a frontal view of a Petri dish culture plate containing three, Mycobacterium marinum, formerly known as M. balnei, bacterial colonies. The colony at right of center, displayed what is termed a smoothly textured surface, while the colonies in the upper right, and lower left revealed roughly textured surfaces. These colonies were cultivated on a growth medium of Middlebrook 7H10 agar.
