Under a magnification of 600X, this photomicrograph of a tissue specimen, excised from a eumycotic mycetoma, and stained using the periodic-acid Schiff method (PAS), revealed histopathologic changes, caused by the organism, Pseudallescheria boydii, formerly known as Allescheria boydii, an ascomycetous mold.
