Under a magnification of 600X, this photomicrograph of a tissue specimen, excised from a eumycotic mycetoma, and stained using the periodic-acid Schiff method (PAS), revealed histopathologic changes, caused by the organism, Pseudallescheria boydii, formerly known as Allescheria boydii, an ascomycetous mold. See PHIL 14970, for another view of this specimen, under a lesser magnification.
