This photograph depicted a Petri dish culture plate, which contained an unidentified growth medium, that had been inoculated with the fungal organism, Trichosporon beigelii, the cause of the dermatomycosis known as white piedra. Note the colonial characteristics, which included a raised wavy profile, and radially distributed folds.
