Description: Caption:
Under a magnification of 125X, this photomicrograph of a hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained brain tissue specimen, revealed the presence of cytoarchitectural changes indicative of a blastomycosis fungal infection. The section included a portion of the meninges. Note the presence of inflammatory cells, fibrin, and necrotic debris, indicative of a chronic inflammatory response to the fungal pathogen.
