Caption:
Under a magnification of 125X, this photomicrograph of a hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained lung tissue specimen, revealed the presence of cytoarchitectural changes indicative of a blastomycosis fungal infection. Note that large portions of the lung tissue had been replaced by inflammatory cells, fibrin, and necrotic debris, with only a few remnants of the alveoli still visible.
