This photograph was captured in 2013, inside the City Park Market, near the Aga Khan University Hospital, in Nairobi, Kenya. The photographer was on location, conducting research on interventional methods, which could be implemented to vaccinate food preparers, in markets like this one, against typhoid. He came across this beautiful pile of fruit in one of the vender’s stalls. Known as the large sourplum, Ximenia caffra, this bright red fruit, is referred to by the locals, as tree tomatoes.
