This photo was taken in April 2017, in the district of Milange, in the Northern Mozambique province of Zambezia. These community members and leaders, along with public health practitioners, and volunteers, were pictured here, updating a map of their area, to help ensure that every last child, in every village, was reached, during an upcoming polio vaccination campaign. Several villages were missed during the first campaign, so CDC GIS analysts, and other staff, developed district, and smaller-area maps, and village lists, for communities to update, so that updated maps, and a comprehensive list of villages, could be used for campaign planning, and implementation. The photographer, Ms. Andrade, assisted with the implementation of this activity, and captured this photo while on deployment, as a Tier 3 member of the Global Rapid Response Team (GRRT).
