Under a magnification of 900X, this photomicrograph of a chorazol black-stained specimen, revealed the presence of a cyst of the parasitic organism, Entamoeba histolytica. Though mature E. histolytica cysts contain four nuclei, in this particular view, you’re only able to see three nuclei due in the focal plane presented, as well as a darkly-staining chromatoid body.
