Under a magnification of 125X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the histopathology associated with a liver biopsy tissue specimen, harvested during an autopsy in a case of hepatitis, in what was designated as end-staged liver degeneration. The etiology of the hepatitis was not noted. Note the disarray, and loss of the normal liver cytoarchitecture, which was replaced by a chaotic, cellular arrangement.
