This image depicted the forearm of a patient to whom a histoplasmosis skin test had been administered, and which subsequently produced the positive result seen here, due to having been previously infected by the fungal organism, Histoplasma capsulatum. This image was captured after the initial positive reaction, in the form of a bleb, and ruptured, leaving behind the remnants of this positive result.
