This photograph depicted a view of a patient’s left hand, which highlighted the fingers. This person had been diagnosed with a case of scleroderma. The fingertips had become gangrenous, and the skin and underlying tissue had turned black, and began to slough off from the healthier, surrounding skin. See PHIL 22312, for another view of this condition.
