Caption:
This photograph depicted a view of a patient’s left hand, which highlighted the fingers. This person had been diagnosed with a case of scleroderma. The fingertips had become gangrenous, turning the skin and underlying dying tissue black. The dead tissue had begun to slough off from the healthier, surrounding skin. See PHIL 22313, for another view of this condition.
