Under a magnification of 1200X, this photomicrograph revealed ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Histoplasma capsulatum. This image was captured during the organism’s mycelial phase, and as you can see, numerous mycelial filaments occupy most of the field of view, amongst which, numbers of large, tuberculated, thick-walled, round macroconidia were dispersed. Also, tiny, ellipsoidal microconidia could also be seen as well.
