This was a close, anterior view of a Guinea pig’s face, focusing on its nose, where the animal had developed a dermatophytosis, caused by the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton mentagrophytes. The cutaneous surface of the nose exhibited a scaly, erythematous appearance, with areas of open abrasions as well.
