This right posterior-oblique view of a boy’s head, revealed a cutaneous scalp lesion, indicated by a circular area of scaly skin, devoid of overlying hair. It was determined that this lesion had been the result of a dermatophytic infection, brought on by a Microsporum sp. fungal organism.
