Under a magnification of 125X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by this dermatophytic fungal organism, which was a species of Arthroderma. The specimen was provided by the International Mycological Association (IMA). You are looking at one of the organism’s cleistothecia, which enclose the reproductive spores, grouped inside in small clusters, referred to as asci.
