Photographed in 1964, on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, this image depicted three Puerto Rican boys, as they were frolicking in a stagnant waterway, which was thought to be infected with Schistosoma spp. parasites. The photograph was captured during a Puerto Rican, public health schistosomiasis survey.
