This photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by a species of saprophytic yeast, which was a member of the genus, Debaryomyces. In this view, you can see an ascus in the upper right, composed of four ascospores. Note the thick, bi-layered wall, encapsulating each of the ascospores.
