This 2016 image, depicted a young woman standing outdoors, while squeezing insect repellent from a bottle into her hand. Zika is spread primarily by the bite of Aedes species mosquitoes (Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus). The best way to prevent Zika is to protect yourself from mosquito bites. Here, the woman was also wearing long sleeves to prevent mosquito bites.
