This Petri dish culture plate contained a cysteine-tellurite growth medium that had been inoculated with Corynebacterium diphtheriae, which after having been allowed to incubate for an undisclosed period of time, gave rise to this mitis subspecies colonial growth pattern, written as Corynebacterium diphtheriae subsp. mitis.
