This image depicted a Petri dish culture plate that contained a growth medium of Sabouraud dextrose agar, which had been inoculated with a culture of the fungal organism, Aspergillus flavus. Note the roughly textured, felt-like appearance of the colony, which would begin to take on a greenish coloration, becoming darker in its coloration, as it aged, from the central region, outward.
