This 1963 image, depicted a view inside one of the laboratories, located at the former Southeastern Radiological Health Laboratory (SRHL) in Montgomery, Alabama, which is now known as the National Air and Radiation Environmental Lab, and is part of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This laboratory technician, was processing water samples, while seated in front of a bank of ion-exchange columns, which she was using to separate strontium-90, and yttrium-90 from these water samples, visible inside each column.
