Depicted in this image was a glass microscope slide, upon which a thin film blood smear on the left, and a thick film blood smear on the right, had been performed. Note the irregularities on each smear, indicating an unidentified, greasy substance on the glass slide, which had caused beading of the smears, and this unacceptable result.
