This image depicted a close-up view of the skin surface in the region of the right chest, of a patient who had presented with this maculopapular rash, that was diagnosed as a case of chickenpox, caused by the varicella zoster virus (VZV), also known as Human herpesvirus 3 (HHV-3). In this view, you could see that these vesicles were in what is known as, the eruptive stage, consisting of fluid-filled blisters.
