This anteroposterior (AP) chest x-ray, revealed pathologic changes in the lung fields of a patient with a Mycoplasma pneumoniae bacterial infection. As a form of atypical pneumonia, M. pneumoniae was formerly known as Eaton agent. Note the patchy consolidation located in the left lower lobe, which was a characteristic of this illness.
