This Petri dish culture plate contained an unknown growth medium, which had been inoculated with the dermatophytic fungal organism, Trichophyton simii. This specimen had been obtained from a monkey. Note from this frontal view, the colony’s characteristic granular surface texture, and its buff coloration. See PHIL 21467, for a reverse view of this colony.
