Under a magnification of 100X, this photomicrograph of a fresh stool specimen, revealed the presence of four, Schistosoma mansoni trematode eggs. The characteristic lateral spines are difficult to see in this view, however, if you take a look at PHIL 17940, you will clearly see an example of the organism’s lateral spine.
