Caption:
Under a magnification of 300X, this photomicrograph revealed some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Geotrichum candidum, which had been cultivated on a eosin-methylene blue (EMB) agar plate. Important to note, was the branched, septate hypha. These filamentous hyphae brake apart, in order to release the elongated arthroconidia, visible here, and which measure on average, 6-12µm x 3-6µm.
