This photomicrograph of a skin section specimen, revealed histopathologic changes in a case of tinea versicolor. I this particular section, you were able to see a hair follicle, in which the hair root had been infiltrated by the characteristic, spherical, yeast-form cells, of the responsible fungal pathogen.
