Under a magnification of 300X, this photomicrograph of a hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained section of liver tissue, revealed some of the histopathology caused by the fungal organism, Sporotrichum schenckii, also known as Sporothrix schenckii. Note the presence of lighter-staining microgranulomas, scattered throughout the normal liver parenchyma. For another view of this tissue sample, see PHIL 21179.
