Under a magnification of 1150X, this photomicrograph of an Giemsa-stained impression smear, of a specimen harvested from a granuloma on a hamster, revealed the presence of two parasitic, Leishmania braziliensis amastigotes, each of which exhibited a well visualized nucleus and kinetoplast.
