Caption:
This is a photomicrograph of a thin film blood smear, which had been extracted from a patient, who had been undergoing antimalarial treatment for a Plasmodium vivax infection. The treatment was administered for an undisclosed time period. Important here, was the presence of a ghost-like remnant of a P. vivax organism, and an atypical ring-form trophozoite.
