Under a magnification of 1225X, this photomicrograph of a blood sample specimen, revealed the presence of two flagellated, Trypanosoma cruzi parasites, known as trypomastigotes. T. cruzi trypomastigotes are the organism’s only stage found circulating in human blood, or CSF.
