This photomicrograph of a blood sample, revealed the presence of two flagellated protozoan organisms known as trypanosomes. The taxonomic identity of these protozoans was not given. You can clearly see the single, large, whip-like flagellum each possessed, which was attached to an undulating membrane, that ran the length of the organism.
