This was a posterior view of a 6 year-old boy’s torso and upper legs, that revealed signs of a fungal infection known as phycomycosis, a form of zygomycosis, caused by an organism of phylum of fungi known as Zygomycota. The infection had involved the skin and superficial tissues of his left buttock and upper left thigh. You could see the striae, or stretch marks overlying the affected regions.
