This was a photomicrograph depicting a magnified view of a hepatic tissue sample harvested from an experimentally infected mouse, which had been inoculated with Listeria monocytogenes. The mouse subsequently developed an infection of its liver, giving rise to hepatic tissue granulomas, the histopathologic characteristics of one is highlighted here. This granuloma was captured while in a state of regression.
