Created in April 2012, by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Health Scientist, Óscar Tarragó, MD, MPH, this image showed us the interior of the laboratory depicted in PHIL 20993, inside a sexually transmitted infection (STI) clinic in Guatemala. As part of the VICITS program (Surveillance and Control for Sexually Transmitted Infections Spanish acronym), this clinic serves as a model training center for the country. They proudly told us that the clinic now holds the highest standard for quality certification (ISO 9001-International Organization for Standardization www.iso.org), the only one in the country. This was one of the entries in the 2015 CDC Connects, Public Health in Action Photo Contest.
