Created in January 2015, during the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Ebola Response, by CDC Public Health Analyst, Leslie R. McCree, this image depicted a young girl, who had been observed during Leslie’s deployment to the township of West Point, in the capital city of Monrovia, Liberia. This Liberian child had lost her entire family to the ravages of Ebola. This was one of the entries in the 2015 CDC Connects, Public Health in Action Photo Contest.
