Entitled, “Disease Testing in Haiti”, this image was captured by CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer, Alaine Kathryn Knipes, PhD. In this image, a technician with Haiti’s Ministry of Health, was using mobile data collection on a smart phone, to enroll schoolgirls prior to testing them for LF and malaria, in Nord Est Department, Haiti. This photo earned Dr. Knipes the First Place award in the 2015 CDC Connects Annual Public Health in Action Photo Contest, in the category of “International People and Programs”.
