This image depicts a dorsal view of the right index finger of an individual who’d been bitten by a Stejneger's pit viper, Trimeresurus stejnegeri, and reveals the severe necrotic reaction to the snake’s venom on the soft tissues of the victim’s hand. For a color version of this patient’s snake bite, from a dorsomedial perspective, see PHIL 21010.
