This image depicted a close view of a young child’s left thigh. The patient was in a clinical setting,, with a gangrenous lesion on his left thigh due to a condition known as pyoderma gangrenosum, and from which Pseudomonas sp. bacterium had been cultured. See PHIL 20835 through 20839, for views of this lesion, as it continued to progress to a point that required debridement and skin grafting. Also see PHIL 20840 and 20841, for two additional views of this boy’s gangrenous thigh lesion, captured at this same time.
