ID#: 20841
This image depicted a young child in a clinical setting, with a gangrenous lesion on his left thigh due to a condition known as pyoderma gangrenosum, and from which Pseudomonas sp. bacterium had been cultured. The wound was negative for any fungal culture. See PHIL 20835 through 20839, for views of this lesion, as it continued to progress to a point that required debridement and skin grafting. Also see PHIL 20840 and 20842, for two additional views of this boy’s gangrenous thigh lesion, captured at this same time.
