Under a magnification of 675X, this photomicrograph revealed the presence of parasitic Entamoeba histolytica organisms within this ameboma tissue sample. An ameboma, also known as an amoebic granuloma, is a possible complication of an amoebic infection, whereupon, a granuloma is formed around the pathogen, usually in the wall of the cecum, or ascending colon.
