Under a magnification of 40X, this hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained cutaneous tissue sample, revealed some of the histopathologic changes observed in a secondary syphilitic lesion, caused by the bacterial spirochete, Treponema pallidum. See PHIL 20796, for another view of this section, under much greater magnification.
